Facts you didn't Know About Demodex oEffect on Skin!
Demodex, microscopic mites that naturally inhabit human skin, can proliferate under certain conditions, potentially leading to various effects on the skin. While small numbers of Demodex are typically harmless, an overpopulation can contribute to skin conditions such as rosacea and certain forms of dermatitis. Symptoms may include redness, inflammation, itching, and the formation of papules or pustules, particularly in the central face area. Demodex mites are also associated with exacerbating acne vulgaris and may play a role in the pathogenesis of some cases of blepharitis, an inflammation of the eyelids. Effective management often involves addressing underlying factors contributing to Demodex proliferation, such as compromised immune function or excessive sebum production, through targeted treatments such as topical or oral medications, cleansing routines, and lifestyle adjustments.
